About The GCCC

The Gem County Chamber of Commerce, also known as the GCCC, is conveniently located in beautiful downtown Emmett, Idaho.

Office Hours: Monday - Thursday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (closed Friday through Sunday).

Like all Chambers of Commerce, the GCCC is a member-based organization. Membership is open to any business, individual or organization. To view or print a membership application, click HERE.

The GCCC actively promotes a strong business climate in Gem County through its many programs, educational opportunities and resources.

In addition, the GCCC enhances its community by cooperating and collaborating with area groups and organizations to bring positive growth and change to the community.

Several community-wide events are brought to you by the GCCC including the communites signature and largest event the Emmett Cherry Festival. Other events include the Harvest Festival Street Fair in October, Casino Night in March and the annual Easter Egg Hunt, held in the Emmett City Park.

There two full-time staff, Dian Streeby, Executive Director and Stephanie Arbulu, Administrative Assistant.

The Gem County Chamber of Commerce is goverened by a board of directors from the general GCCC membership.

2008 Accomplishments

  • Secured Idaho Tourism Grant Funding on behalf of the community to advertise on the radio and in publications promoting tourism opportunities in Gem County.  
  • Secured Idaho Tourism Grant Funding to reconstruct the new Gem Community/Chamber of Commerce website promoting tourism, relocation and day trips to Gem County.  
  • Collaborated with business community and area service groups to construct the Welcome To Gem County entrance sign at Gem County Line on Highway 16. 
  • Completed Phase 2 of Emmett City Park electrical upgrade.  
  • Collaborated with BSU and the Emmett School District to provide BSU computer classes in Emmett.  
  • Produced and distributed weekly email, the "Chamber Reminder", to keep members and other interested individuals informed of Chamber and Community Events.  
  • Provided small business education classes and customer service training through NxLevel Program, sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank.  
  • Partnered with GEDA and Shadow Butte Development Corporation to further economic development in Gem County. 
  • Assisted in the funding of the Community Economic Development Professional position, in collaboration with the City of Emmett, KeyBank, Idaho Power and Shadow Butte Development Corporation. 
  • Lobbied Idaho State Legislature through membership and participation in the Idaho Chamber Alliance.  
  • Held ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new and expanding businesses.
  • Presented monthly Mid-Day Mingle networking luncheons with featured speakers and community programs.
  • Organized quarterly Women in Business events, sponsored by KeyBank.  
  • Collaborated with Blue Cross to continue providing Chamber Blue Health Insurance to GCCC members.  
  • Continued to expand GCCC Ambassadors Program and increase benefits for Ambassadors.
  • Contacted every GCCC member through the GCCC Ambassador Program.
  • Staffed and stocked the Visitor's Information Center and distributed relocation packages to individuals and businesses interested in Gem County.  
  • Worked closely with local organizations to promote area events through on-site promotion and on the website www.EmmettIdaho.com.
  • Increased community, business and non-profit participation in Cherry Festival with record-breaking visitor attendance.  
  • Collaborated with area businesses to organize and facilitate a successful fall Harvest Festival Street Fair.  
  • Organized annual GCCC Casino Night fundraiser event for the community.
  • Organized chamber-sponsored annual community Easter Egg Hunt held in Emmett City Park.
  • Organized and sponsored Annual State of the City Address.
  • Organized and sponsored Annual State of the County Address.
  • Assisted with ongoing community efforts to revitalize the Gem Community through participation in the Gem Community Revitalization Committee.  
  • Received Idaho Community Foundation grant, Rotary Club donation as well as donations from many other non-profit groups to purchase additional Christmas banners for Washington Ave and Main St. 
  • Purchased new Christmas skyline banner for the corner of Washington and Hwy 52.
  • Purchased all new Emmett Cherry Festival banners for Washington Ave and Main St.
